The End of the Cossacks!

Hello again.  Finally, after 9 months the last of Cossacks needed for our ImagiNations Napoleonic campaign are completed.  And best of all, these can also do double duty in my “Outlandishian Chronicles” parallel world campaign.  Thank you Joe for coming up with a suitable name!   Of course with the ongoing Covid craziness who knows if we’ll ever be able to game in person again.

With the completion of these stout fellows that brings me to a total of 5 new Cossack Regiments, all Old Glory.  These are now added to my existing 3 Front Rank Cossack Regiments and the Front Rank Guard Cossack Regiment.  This gives me the ability to field 9 Cossack Regiments!  That gives me a good solid number for a proper Russian Army of the Napoleonic era.

Below is the last unit in this years’ production run.

And a slightly different view.

And below is the result of this years Cossack production in all their glory.

Maybe it's time I went back to painting some proper Napoleonic figures?

Stay safe.

So much lead, so little time.

  1. Pat sends congratulations on the accomplishment. I stand at 7 regiments and in awe. Maybe we should get together and 'try them out to see...'

    1. Thank you. That would be a sight to see. And probably a short, bloody battle. You know how poorly new units do in their first on table experience.

  2. 'All their glory' is right Barry, they look great. The red kaftan fellows particularly stand out; your favourites?

    1. Thank you James. I do like the way the Red Kaftans turned out. I was fed up with painting blue and needed to try something different. It seems to have worked out well.

  3. I presume these figures are from the OG Eastern Renaissance range, Barry? That certainly is a cloud of Cossacks... or is that a Curse of Cossacks?!

    1. You are correct. Old Glory from the Eastern Renaissance range as I recall. Hopefully their opponents consider them a Curse of Cossacks. Now all they need are some retreating French Infantry to deliver pine suppositories to.
